Live Online Training in Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course that teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and provide help on a first aid basis.

MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure, and respond, even in a crisis.

Adult MHFA courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards. Every MHFA course is delivered by a quality assured instructor accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health and is trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn.

This course is a practical skills and awareness course designed to give you:

• A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own
• Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
• Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
• Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
• Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support

Learning takes place across two days online, typically 09:00-17:00 (GMT).

You will learn content through a mix of presentations, discussions, activities, and breakout rooms keeping content engaging and aimed at a variety of learning styles.

This online course includes materials that are sent out to you in the post. Please allow 7-10 working days for delivery.

The materials include a workbook, lanyard and action card that are used throughout the course. You will also be sent a comprehensive manual as a digital resource.

You will have access to the 'MHFAider® Support App' where you will get further support, resources, ongoing learning, conversation logging and much more!

To take part in this online course you will need a device (laptop/computer) with good internet connection, video and sound. Your trainer must be able to see and hear you across both days to provide certification.
